Helen Ujvary - an aspiring director

Helen Ujvary is the Australian Representative of Ferghana Partners, an international investment bank which provides high level, independent corporate finance advice to firms in the Life Sciences field. Ms Ujvary is responsible for business origination in M&A (mergers and acquisitions) and corporate partnering solely in the Australian bioscience sector. In addition she is responsible for analytical work and inward/outward transaction support for Australian deals across all bioscience sectors. Ferghana Partners has offices in New York, London, Boston and Adelaide.

Prior to joining Ferghana Partners in 2001 and again in 2006, Helen was employed by London-based investment bank Quartz (a subsidiary of Knight Securities) from 2000-2001 as a Biotech analyst, specialising in the Genomics, Proteomics, Bioinformatics and Anti-infectives sectors. Prior to joining Quartz, she worked at Seymour Pierce, a London-based stockbroking firm, as an equity analyst specialising in the Biotech sector in 1999-2000. Ms Ujvary has an MSc in Biotechnology from the University of Kent at Canterbury and MSc (Oxon) in Chemical Engineering from Oxford University.

Ms Ujvary has been made a Finalist in the 2007 Telstra Business Women's Awards for two categories: SA Hudson Private & Corporate Award and the SA Young Business Women's Award. In addition, in 2007 Helen was appointed by the SA Premier as a South Australian Business Ambassador. Ms Ujvary is also an Honorary Committee Member responsible for National Strategy for The Tall Poppy Campaign.
