Anna Fisher - Experienced SME Director

SME Private Companies are an exciting, thrilling opportunity for board members; however they also come with their challenges. Anna believes that the key trait that has enabled her to succeed in the SME Private Equity market is a well rounded skill base, supported by strength in finance, and a keenness to see success. Dealing with owner/operators who have decided to expand their business requires patience and understanding as it is usually difficult for them to let go.

Starting her career in the Healthcare Industry Anna was fortunate enough to work for an innovative SME business that specialized in providing business services to the Private Healthcare Sector. Providing business advice to GPs, Specialists and hospitals the primary focus was to help them realize that they were running a business.

Then joining another SME in the health care sector as part of the Administration Team Anna quickly progressed to become a key member of the consulting team and eventually a Director in the business. The transition from employee to director was challenging. After 12 months Anna moved on, joining another SME Private Company.

Anna then moved to the IT industry for 3 years providing business advice as part of a Management Team, before joining a winery, McLaren Vintners Pty Ltd, in early 2007. As General Manager and Board member of this joint venture Anna plays a key role on the Board. She provides operational information to the board and helps to set the strategy for the company moving forward.

Anna offers skills in Strategic Planning, building relationships, finance and people strategies for a growing company. Her particular board interest is in SME Private Companies; in particular in the wine, healthcare or environmental industries.
