1. Are your details correct?

The details you have entered will appear on your event / membership invoices and your resume. To change any of these details please login to the website and click the Edit My Details link on the Welcome page.

2. Getting the most out of your WOB membership

Tip 6 - email alerts

You will regularly receive a short email alert which details new board vacancies. To see the details of the vacancy logon and go to The Boardroom which contains information about the vacancy plus instructions on how to apply for it.

Tip 7 - Revisiting Kerry Chater's CV assist hotline

WOB is often asked about CVs. Our response is that there is a difference between a job and director CV. Your NED CV is your base marketing document when expressing an interest in a board opportunity. It needs to hit the mark and get you through the door. So take the opportunity to look again at Kerry Chater's article at http://www.womenonboards.org.au/pubs/0708_chater.htm

Kerry will be bringing this article to life with a workshop entitled 'Your CV - How to do Yourself Justice' at the 1st National Diversity on Boards Conference.

Tip 8 - Finding the right board for you: 10 questions to ask before joining a board

This very useful check list from CPA Australia is at http://www.womenonboards.org.au/pubs/0707_rightboard.htm

2. Reports from the coaching scholarship winners

Five months has passed since winners of 2007 Coaching Scholarships were announced. WOB is tracking their progress. You can read about their progress at http://www.womenonboards.org.au/news/scholarships_winners.htm

3. Events

Rural initiative - introduction to directorship session

On 11 December WOB did our first online event . It was an introduction to directorship session with a panel of directors telling their story and with associated written material available on computer screen. Thanks to the Grain Growers Association for setting up this trial. The technology worked well and the feedback on the session was good.

WOB plans to include online sessions as part of our Rural Subscriber offering in 2008. You will be able to sit at your desk , hear from directors and see their stories on your computer screen. More info in 2008.

4. Subscription renewal- reminder

Subscriptions fall due on a rolling basis 12, 24 or 36 months after you subscribed. You can renew before your expiry date - the system rolls your subscription date forward. Please login to the website to check your subscription status and renew.

More information on benefits of subscribing is at www.womenonboards.org.au/subscribe/index.htm

I've been appointed as a board director for Learning Links - a children's charity- supporting children who have difficulty learning and assisting their families.
