The Company Directors Course (CDC) is a comprehensive director program leading to a qualification recognised by the director community both in Australia and overseas. The program covers the following topics.

  • Understand your duties and responsibilities as a director
  • Improve your value to your board
  • Increase your confidence in the boardroom

  • Minimise your personal and company risk
  • Discuss boardroom issues in confidence with your peers

More information about CDC is at http://www.companydirectors.com.au/Education/

Thank you to Gabrielle Schroeder, NSW Manager, AICD, for making this possible.

The scholarship recipient will be selected on the basis of an application which should include:

  • A covering letter outlining why they should receive a scholarship and how they would benefit?
  • A completed My Resume from the WOB website

All applicants should be emailed to louise@womenonboards.org.au by COB Friday 21 August 2009. The scholarship will be announced during the conference.

3. Australian Institute of Management NSW

The Australian Institute of Management NSW are offering a conference delegates the opportunity to attend its new five-day Women in Leadership Program, valued at $2,500.

The recipient will need to cover any transport and accommodation costs and the scholarship must be taken by December 2010.

AIM's Women in Leadership program has been designed to assist emerging women managers to make the transition to more senior leadership positions and establish their own leadership style. Using the experiences of motivational speakers including Lois Frankel, author of 'Nice Girls Don't get the Corner Office', interactive workshops and mentoring, participants will build skills in areas that many women find challenging, such as negotiation and assertiveness.

The program will also provide inspiration through guest speakers as role models. Participants will examine the image they project through the verbal and non-verbal language they use, appearance, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will then develop a personal action plan to work towards projecting an image that is consistent with how they want others to see them.

Thank to Annalise Haskell, General Manager of AIM NSW, for making this possible.
