Women on Boards Art Prize 2011

At a special art prize celebrating the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day, the winners prize of $2,500 was awarded to Ro Murray for her three excellent acrylic sculptures, most particularly for the work titled 'The Great Flood'. Nora O'Loughlin, received the encouragement award of $1,000, sponsored by Sphinnx, for a tryptych on paper titled "Working Hens: Chic-Hen, Mother-Hen and Paris-ie-hen".
Special commendation was give to Laura Courtney for her painting titled 'Hope' and Bridgette McNab for her painting entitled 'Girl in Pink Blouse' for the quality of their work, particularly for their ability to evoke a mood through their medium.
The judges commended all 80 plus entrants for their creativity and initiative for entering into the second annual Women on Boards Art Prize and were delighted to see such a diverse range of entries.
