Women on Boards Art Prize 2014

The Women on Boards Art prize for a female artist exhibiting in any medium was presented on International Women's Day (8 March).  In 2014 we celebrate the fifth year of the prize inviting works in any medium around the theme:

"Women voice and vision: reflections on Australian society today”

The Award

The Women on Boards prize was established by Ruth Medd, Chair of Women on Boards, and Lesley Dimmick, Director of the TAP Gallery in Darlinghurst Sydney to identify and assist emerging female artists to achieve recognition and success. 

The judges

For 2014 we were fortunate to have Christie Cooper and Dr Raquel Ormella as judges.

The Winners

The Winner  of the 2014 Women on Boards Internatiuonal Women's Day Art Prize 2014 of $2,500 is Catherine Kennedy  for her mural  ‘Losing it’

The runnerup with the Caroline Barker award of $1,000 is Janet Venn- Brown for her series of interior paintings

  •  ‘Interior with Tennis on TV’
  •  ‘Interior with Abstract beside Hall Door’ and
  •  ‘Interior with Red Sofa Under the Stairs’

The prize for a young artist sponsroed by the College of Arts and Social Sciences at the
The Australian National University of $500 is  Jourdan Hancock  for  ‘Wife of Collatinus, Desire of Taraquiniusa’
